The American Authors – Poe, Hawthorne, and Sinclair

This course looks at three very important and very different American authors:  Edgar Allan Poe, Nathaniel Hawthorne, and Upton Sinclair.  In this course you will use web resources to learn about these authors’ lives and literary works.  You will be able to read critiques and criticisms of their writings. These resources will also help your students to understand the reasons these authors are so important in American literature.  The final project for this course will be to design a web quest style lesson that, you can use to engage your students in research, information, and critical thinking insights about these and other great American authors
