As a leader in Education, Editure Professional Development expands its offering with Editure Professional Courses to give educators a unique opportunity to advance their career through a flexible online program. Courses can be applied towards teacher certification and re-certification, salary advancement and professional growth.
Courses are viewed as non credit offerings and are applied to Continuing Education Units. The Continuing Education Unit (CEU) is a nationally recognized unit of measurement for participation in noncredit continuing education programs. Adults who participate in Old Dominion University’s programs that are awarded Continuing Education Units will have a permanent transcript of CEU’s that may be useful for promotion, employment or certification purposes.
One CEU is defined as ten contact hours of participation in an organized continuing education experience under responsible sponsorship, capable direction, and qualified instruction. The CEU can be awarded in whole units or fractions of a unit/one tenth unit for each additional contact hour.
Participants are advised to check with their school district or credit evaluation entity to determine if this type of credit will be approved for their specific needs, as requirements vary. If a district allows a teacher to take the course, the Virginia Department of Education would support what the district approved.
